Marine Survey

Insurance renewal, new boat acquisition, condition-based survey – Eos Marine will provide an independent opinion on the vessel’s overall condition, market value, and maintenance considerations. In that case, you are looking at a Marine Survey.

  1. Pre-survey activities: research the vessel history and documents review (1-2 hours at the office)
  2. Physical survey & inspection of the vessel: – (Generally 2-4 hours at the boat’s location)
  3. Post survey activities – report writing: – (3 – 5 hours at the office): Reports are generally 15-20 pages long; they describe the general condition of the vessel and include a seaworthiness statement, Valuation certificate and a maintenance schedule.
  4. Report printing and delivery (1 hour): delivery is generally done at the vessel’s location, allowing the surveyor to discuss aspects of the vessel more practically.
  5. Marine Survey relevance: generally good for 3-5 years, depending on the use of the vessel and the insurance coverage.
  6. Cost of a Marine survey: based on the size of the vessel and impacted by the complexity of the vessel’s systems.
